July 2005 - Work is progressing smoothly on the followup to Virtual Love!
It's still very early in the process, but it appears that
Media Burn is aiming for a more psychedelia-inspired feel for
the 3rd album. Song titles so far include 'Deferred Gratification',
'This Isn't Happening', and 'Walking Inside Out'.

April 2005 - There's a new Media Burn page at purevolume.com, featuring
some full-length streaming mp3's.

November 2004 - Media Burn's long-awaited 2nd album Virtual Love
has finally been released.
With Virtual Love, the band expands on their sound, covering a
wider and slightly poppier swath of musical territory than on their debut
album. Produced by Kevin Brown, this nearly-double-album is a mind-
blowing musical adventure that winds through 18 stunning new songs,
ranging in style from experimental psychedelia to noise rock to hook-
laden dreampop. Loosely divided into two 9-song halves, each "side"
of Virtual Love plays like a complete album in its own right.
Over two years in the making, the ambitious Virtual Love finds
Media Burn fearlessly forging ahead into the future of post-punk
music. Experimental rhythms are juxtaposed against other-worldly
electronic soundscapes, while Doug Hamilton's guitar explores strange
frontiers of unorthodox tonality. Within all the din, singer Johanna
Blanchard keeps the music grounded in reality, with an infectious
voice and memorable lyrics expressing her feelings about
the real world and relationships.
